Welcome to Hornby Occasionals

We are a 30-year old operatic society which performs a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta each year in the Spring at Hornby Institute, Hornby, Lancaster, where we also meet and rehearse. We rehearse on Friday nights from mid-September and Saturday mornings nearer to the show dates. We welcome energetic new members who are interested in singing, acting, set building, prompting, props and front of house. Find out more about membership. Our last production "The Gondoliers" was yet again a sell-out. We perform with an orchestra which is very popular with our audiences and greatly enhances the sense of occasion and drama. We perform with attractive sets, lighting and fully costumed, to create a rich theatrical effect! Our Producer and MD are highly experienced with a great deal of technique to share.

GREAT ALL ROUND NODA CRIT!!!!!!

H.M.S. PINAFORE

This presentation of H.M.S. Pinafore was traditional but came over the footlights as fresh as ever. This was due in no small measure, to a very accomplished team of principles and chorus, all of whom obviously enjoyed themselves and this enjoyment communicated itself to the audience.

FANTASTIC PRODUCTION WEEK - BEST EVER!!!! (TRIAL PICS NOW INCLUDED)

We played to full houses and ecstatic audience reaction! Great feedback has made all our hard work worthwhile. Well done everyone - superb music, singing, acting, costumes and set. Our chorus gets stronger every year. What will we tackle next.........I wonder?
