On Saturday night, March 27, I left Hornby Village Institute with a feeling of great joy and excitement. Why? Because I had enjoyed an excellent production of Gilbert and Sullivan's opera, "The Sorcerer". The whole evening was lit by a talented cast of adults, girls and boys. The scenery and props, especially the monsters, were professionally executed by a local artist and a member of the cast. The costumes, made locally, were bright and jolly. I came away feeling that here were communities working together and giving their time willingly and loyally. Many, many hours had gone into this production and they deserve much praise showing that local communities are able to work together. They get my vote as they look forward, with the stage as it is, to receiving a Lottery award. It was my first visit to Hornby but not the last. I shall be back in 2005. Well done 'Occasionals'
